Telecom regulator TRAI on Tuesday launched an in depth session paper to debate modalities for public sale of 5G spectrum bands, together with pricing, quantum and associated circumstances.
The Telecom Division has requested TRAI to offer suggestions on points similar to relevant reserve value, band plan, block dimension, quantum of spectrum to be auctioned and related circumstances for public sale of spectrum in 526-698 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2500 MHz, 3300-3670 MHz and 24.25-28.5 GHz bands, the regulator mentioned in an announcement.
“The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has in the present day launched a session Paper on ‘Public sale of spectrum’ within the frequencies recognized for Worldwide Cell Telecommunications (IMT) / 5G,” the assertion added.
TRAI has sought feedback from stakeholders on numerous issued outlined in its session paper by December 28, 2021. The deadline for counter-comments has been set at January 11, 2022.
