Rupee falls 22 paise to 74.36 against U.S. dollar in early trade

The Indian rupee depreciated 22 paise to 74.36 towards the U.S. greenback in opening commerce on Thursday, amid a muted pattern in home equities.

On the interbank overseas change, the rupee opened on a weak notice at 74.28, then fell additional to 74.36 towards the greenback, registering a decline of twenty-two paise from the final shut.

Within the earlier session on Wednesday, the rupee had settled at 74.14 towards the U.S. greenback.

In the meantime, the greenback index, which gauges the buck’s power towards a basket of six currencies, fell 0.05% to 94.29.
