Cricketer Hardik Pandya on Tuesday rejected studies that claimed two wrist watches price Rs 5 crore had been seized from him on the Mumbai airport on his return from Dubai after India wrapped up its marketing campaign on the T20 World Cup.

A report by ANI earlier on Tuesday had claimed that the Customs Division of Mumbai seized the watches on Sunday because the cricketer was not in a position to produce the invoice receipt of the merchandise.

“Customs Division seized two wrist watches price Rs 5 crore of cricketer Hardik Pandya, on Sunday evening (14 November) when he was getting back from Dubai. The cricketer didn’t have the invoice receipt of the watches,” the report quoted the Mumbai Customs Division as saying.

Taking to Twitter, Pandya stated, “On Monday morning (15 November), I voluntarily went to Mumbai airport customs counter to declare the objects introduced by me and pay the requisite customs responsibility. Incorrect perceptions have been floating round on social media concerning my declaration to customs at Mumbai airport, and I want to make clear about what transpired.”

“I had voluntarily declared all of the objects that I might lawfully bought from Dubai and was able to pay no matter duties that wanted to be paid. As a matter of truth, the customs division had requested for all buy paperwork which had been submitted.
