A small U.S. Navy aircraft has crashed in Virginia, killing one crew member and injuring two others, the Navy stated early Thursday.
The aircraft, an E-2 Hawkeye, crashed at about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday close to Wallops Island and Chincoteague, Va., the Navy stated in a quick assertion. WAVY, a tv station in Virginia, reported that the aircraft had crashed into water.
One crew member was discovered lifeless within the plane, the Navy stated. The opposite two had been rescued and despatched for therapy for accidents that weren’t life-threatening, it stated.
The Navy stated the crash was beneath investigation. It didn’t launch the names of the crew members, saying solely that their aircraft had been assigned to the East Coast Airborne Command and Management Squadron.
