The CAIP program’s first payment was made in July 2022. The next instalment of the quarterly payments will begin in October 2022.

An average family of four will receive $186.25 in Ontario and $269.75 Alberta. A Manitoba family will receive $208. On October 14th, Saskatchewan will receive $275.35.

Rural and small communities will also be eligible for an additional 10%.

The family’s situation and whereabouts will affect the amount. However, CAIP ensures that eight out ten households get more money than they spend. Climate Action Incentive paymentprogram puts affordability and fairness first.

What does it mean- Climate Action Incentive Payment

We can tell from the name that it has to do with climate. Every quarter, the government provides benefits to the residents in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Ontario. It is used to lower the Federal Pollution Pricing.

It was called Climate Action Incentive before 2021.

The benefits are now paid quarterly beginning in July 2022. Beneficiaries will receive benefits automatically if they’re eligible.

Conditions to receive Climate Incentive payment?

The day before the first payment month begins and the day after the end of the previous months:

  • You must reside in Manitoba, Ontario or Alberta.
  • You must, however, follow at least one condition during the same timeframe:
  • Minimum 19 years.
  • A spouse or common-law companion
  • If you are a parent and live with your child, or have lived with them previously,
