Vaping is catching on more than ever these days with new people getting into it all the time. Even so, vaping isn’t as simple as smoking cigarettes. This can leave some beginners confused, especially when it comes to disposable vape pens. Let’s take a look at what a beginner should know when using disposable pens for vaping.
1. Inhaling Correctly
Some disposable vape pens are activated by the way you inhale. This makes it important to inhale the right way or it could cause issues. This is the case when the vape juice in the disposable pen is heated through deep breaths. That said, you could end up coughing a lot if you inhale too deeply when you first start. A good rule of thumb is to inhale deeply for two to three seconds, see how you react, and take it from there.
2. Avoid Excessive Sharing
Disposable vape pens are made for a single person. This means that “puff puff pass” will deplete the pen faster than you might expect and leave you with nothing. Sure, letting one or two people try your pen once probably won’t be an issue, but don’t count on a disposable to last if you’re passing it around the room. Sanitation can also be an issue when it comes to vape pens since they aren’t meant to be shared.
3. Keep Your Pen Clean
Even though disposable pens are meant to be disposed of, as the name implies, you still need to keep them clean. If you suspect that your pen may have become dirty, take a fresh Q-tip and use rubbing alcohol to give it a good clean before using it. Also, make sure that you store it correctly so that you don’t cause a leak. Trying to replace the juice and/or getting too crazy with your inhales is also a bad idea that can lead to a huge mess if you’re not careful.
4. Make Sure it Works
Before using a disposable vape pen for the first time, you want to make sure it works. In many cases, there is a light that lights up to indicate that the product is working. This is typically activated by a button. Press the button to make sure the light turns on before taking a puff. If there isn’t a light, just take a quick moment to look over your device to make sure nothing is damaged or leaking. If, for some reason, your pen doesn’t work, don’t bother trying to fix it. Instead, just get a refund if you can.
5. Don’t Try to Refill a Disposable
It may seem like common sense, but disposable vape pens are not built to be refilled. Don’t try to open a disposable to put new vape juice into it. There is a good chance you will damage the device and your juice will be lost because it won’t work anymore. If you really want a vape pen that can be refilled, consider buying one that uses a refillable pod system. This will allow you to refill your pen when needed and swap in and out different flavors of juice. In many cases, it can even be the cheaper option over time.
6. Proper Storage
Even though disposables are meant to be thrown away, there is a good chance you won’t finish it off all in one go. This means you’ll need to take special care when storing it. For starters, it should be kept in an area that is dry and cool. This will help to preserve the battery life and performance of the device since moisture and sunshine can damage it if left out for too long. Since the cartridge can’t be replaced, it will essentially be a waste of a vape pen if you let this happen. Also, be sure to store your vape pen in a way that it won’t break or crack when transporting it.
Vaping the Right Way
Disposable vape pens are very convenient, and it is pretty easy to get started with them. Since you’re going to be throwing it away anyway, there isn’t as much need to put a lot of thought into it. However, if you want something more permanent that offers greater flexibility, consider getting a nondisposable pen.
