Rugby Soccer Union chief government Invoice Sweeney is being handled in hospital for a pulmonary embolism.

Sweeney was admitted with the situation – a blocked blood vessel within the lungs – on Friday and an RFU assertion stated he “is predicted to make a full restoration and return to work”.

“He’s in good spirits and is being nicely taken care of,” the union added.

Sweeney will get better “for the subsequent few weeks” with the RFU government crew taking cost throughout his absence.

Previously the British Olympic Affiliation’s chief government for nearly six years, Sweeney took over at English rugby union’s governing physique in Might 2019.
