Dearness allowance for central government employees hiked by 3%

NEW DELHI: The Union Cupboard on Wednesday accredited 3 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for central authorities staff and dearness reduction (DR) to pensioners.
With this, DA for such staff now stands at 34 per cent of the fundamental pay/pension as in opposition to 31 per cent earlier.
The hike can be relevant with impact from January 1, 2022.
“This improve is in accordance with the accepted system, which relies on the suggestions of the seventh Central Pay Fee,” the federal government stated in an official launch.
The mixed impression on the exchequer on account of each DA and DR could be Rs 9,544.50 crore each year.
“This may profit about 47.68 lakh central authorities staff and 68.62 lakh pensioners,” the discharge stated.
