Heads and governing our bodies of all sports activities have been requested to not enable athletes or officers from Russia and Belarus to take part in any organised worldwide competitions by the Worldwide Olympic Committee.
In a press release, the IOC’s govt board made the advice due to a “breach of the Olympic Truce” by the Russian and Belarusian governments.
It stated that wherever this was not doable for organisational or authorized causes, such athletes needs to be classed as neutrals and never compete beneath the title Russia or Belarus.
The advice comes earlier than the 2022 Winter Paralympics, which begins in Beijing on Friday.
Extra to observe.
